The New Kid With the Pencil

When Liam walked into his new high school, he felt like a tiny boat in a huge ocean.
He didn’t know anyone, and everyone else already seemed to have their own groups and friendships.

During lunch, he sat alone at the edge of the courtyard, quietly sketching in his notebook to pass the time.

A few students walked by and noticed the movement of his pencil, but no one said anything at first.

Then one girl stopped and asked, “Did you draw that?”
Liam looked up shyly and nodded.
She called her friends over, and soon a small crowd gathered around him, amazed by the detailed drawing of a dragon he had created.
“Wow, this is incredible,” one boy said. “Can you draw something for us?”
For the first time that day, Liam smiled.
He began sketching little characters, animals, and superheroes for the kids around him.
By the end of lunch, he wasn’t sitting alone anymore.
The students invited him to join their group, excited to see more of his art.
